OFFICIAL FLOAT WINNERS And The PARADE Winners Are!!!!!
This years entries came full of energy, colors, and sound… definitely the 3-D craziness for which the Greenville Ave. St. Patrick's Day Parade is famous. Neither the participants nor the 30,000+ viewers let a little cold weather keep them away. Considering the weather's intention not to participate, everyone else did and the parade was absolutely another huge success. For copies of these photos call GAABA. The "Best of the Best" winner went to The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, with their traditional bag pipers giving the spectators an Irish serenade that kept them wanting more and their miniature silver airtstream trailer equipped with a giant Iguana head and tail. The "Funniest" award went to the Granada Movie Grill for their own version of "The Full Monty," with the original music and strip tease down to their shamrock shorts. If any more clothes came off, we're not sure what they would be awarded. The "Greenest" winner went to Milo Butterfingers; any more green and we'd have had to water it. The "Stupidest" award went to a group from Wolski's Tavern with their rendition of the JFK motorcade in a modem day convertible… some things are better left alone. Other Winners Included: Most Irish Animal -- Greyhound Rescue of N. Texas
Parade Judges This year's Judges were former Dallas Cowboy and Super Bowl MVP, Harvey Martin; Fox 4 Sports Anchor, Mike Doocy; Valerie and Jay Freeman from Imprimis Staffing Services; Tom Stephenson, founder of the Greenville Ave. St. Patrick's Day Parade; Robert Wilonsky, music critic and sports writer for the Dallas Observer; and Holly Watson, Retail Sales Manager with D Magazine. Without these attentive judges, we would not have had any winners. So thanks to all the judges who gave up a Saturday morning to contribute to the delinquency of the hundreds of adults. |
