Bartender and Wait Staff Ratings
Mayor of Greenville Avenue's Bartender and Wait Staff Ratings

___________
THE MAYOR'S RATING CRITERIA

As the Mayor of Greenville Avenue does periodically, I make the rounds at my
favorite bars trying to determine who are the top people in the service industry. I have a very hard job, of course, having to spend my time downing a few brews while I do my important research!

My rankings are different than others, because I don't rank people on how well they can
make a certain drink. More important is how these bartenders and waitstaff make the customer feel. They should be attentive and they should be able to
provide friendly and fast service. They should make the customer think that she/he is the most important person in the world. (There was no
runaway winner with the top three ranked this time; however, the first choice edged out the next two, because of the extra requirements of her job, which
necessitated her walking endless miles doing it, etc.)

___________
RATINGS AS OF 1/03/01

1. Misty - formerly of Jack's Pub and now working solely at the Green Elephant - Has soared to the top in a relatively short time! She had a very hard spot to fill, as she replaced one of the greatest of all times at Jack's, Robin! Like others listed in the rankings, she has an awesome
personality and used to work the entire outside volleyball courts at Jack's by herself! She nearly has as much of the friendly smile as the famous former waitress Robin did, but not quite. Misty makes up one-third of the awesome trio of highly ranked waitstaff from the Green Elephant! She
succeeds Chris, the male bartender formerly of the Corner Tap, who was ranked #1 in the last Mayor'sò rankings.

2. Jon "Bug" or "Bugman" - Stan's Blue Note - Carries on the long and great tradition of good service and friendliness, like such legendary former Stan's bartender Rick! Loves to talk about the Stars! With the
departure of Rick, the "Bugman" has taken over the hard task of handling the microphone and working the bachelorette parties. He doesn't even ask
the Mayor of Greenville Avenue or Big Bill what they want. He always has a Shiner ready to go for the Mayor of Greenville Avenue and a Miller for Big Bill!

3. Rafe - Stars Club - No matter how busy he is, he serves you fast
and gets the requests always down correctly. I have never seen anyone serve as many people so fast; however, he can still pick out his old customers in the
huge crowd instantly!

4. Lucille - Lakewood Landing - The legend of all waitstaff! What's it been now? I can't remember the exact number of years, but I believe that
she has worked nearly 30 years straight at the Landing! She is so famous and beloved by long time patrons that her caricature is even on the menus. About three years ago, my good friend Bill the owner bought her a car to
show his gratitude. She provides fast and efficient old-time service and adds character to the hole-in-the-wall bar!

5. Leslie - the Corner Tap - Leslie has worked his way up rather fast. After arriving in the USA from Ireland 9 years ago, he found a job at Fridays on Beltline after only a couple of hours of looking, on his
first day in Dallas! A couple of days later, he was also hired at the original Tipperary Inn on Greenville. Two months later, he was hired in at the
new Tipperary Inn on Skillman. After 7 years at the Tipperary Inn training grounds, two years ago, he took over as manager at the Corner Tap. Leslie
nearly lives at the place, pouring his Irish heart into making the Tap one of the best watering holes in Dallas! Leslie still has the sarcastic wit, but will make time to talk with the customers and make them feel at home.

6. Martin - the Tipperary Inn - Originally from County Tipperary in Ireland, he is beginning to take on legendary status! Martin's Tip has proved to be the training grounds for many of the greatest bartenders and waitstaff over
the years! Martin, recently closed down the Tip for around 3 and a half months and sunk 1.8 million dollars into it, and reopened it to make it even
more of an outstanding pub. What sets Martin apart from many other
owners and managers, is that he will personally take time to talk with his patrons and greet you with a handshake. When the Pub gets crowded, Martin will roll
up his sleeves and showcase his old bartender skills! He doesn't mind getting down and dirty!

7. Tania - Two Rows - The beloved former Blarney Stone great, has taken her awesome personality and risen up the ladder of the Bar world, by becoming the manager of Two Rows! Tania has always been very personable with her long time favorite customers. She always has a hug for the Mayor, when she
sees him!

8. Kristin - the Green Elephant - One of the dynamic trio! Who does
the hiring at the Green Elephant? If it's you Adam, you have brought in three of the highest ranked waitresses in all of Dallas! Unbelievable! Kristin, is always pleasant to her customers, and never seems to be moody as some of
the other waitstaff in town gets at times. She works very, very hard at each table, and is always there to check on everyone with her usual smile!

9. Mark - Stan's Blue Note - Is beginning to take his place in the
footsteps of such legendary former Stan's bartenders such as Rick! In fact, Stan's is producing a crop of loyal upcoming crowd-pleasing bartenders such as Penney and Basel. However, Mark has an advantage over many of his colleagues as he works along side "Bugman" at the old bar. The "Old Bar" has spawned
many of the greatest bartenders of all times! Mark has a great personality that endears him to his customers. He provides fast service, and like the "Bugman" always knows what the Mayor wants! Also, like the "Bugman" he
will be at the legendary bar nearly every Friday night!

10. Lenny - the Dubliner - Since becoming manager of the Dubliner, the Irishman has brought something back to a Pub that has sorely needed it since Peter and Feagal are not around as much. Lenny has an easy laid back personality. If you don't see him at the Dubliner, he is hanging out and socializing at Stan's! His congenality sets the tone for the Dubliner.
He always takes time to socialize with the Mayor. He understands what a pub means. It is a public place where one can come, socialize and have a good time with friends. Lenny doesnòt actually work the bar much anymore, but
just his being at the pub and greeting his customers adds character to the pub.

Honorable Mention (Best of the Rest)

1. Traci - one of the dynamic trio from the Green Elephant (Mistyòs roommate)

2. Briana - the Blarney Stone ö with the huge turnover over the years, she remains a pleasant constant.

3. Margaret - the Corner Tap ö brings her Irish wit and wisdom from the Tip.

4. Jacque - the Lakewood Landing öthe Tip ex who hasprovedextremely
popular.

5. Noel - the Cock and Bull ö another Irishman who is the Mayor's good friend from the glory days of the original Mucky Duck.

6. Shane - the former LuLu's Bait Shack great, who is now at
Christie's Sports Bar ö remember how zany he was in the old days at LuLuòs?

7. Davies - the Blarney Stone ö yes, still another Irishman who is
always in good humor

8. Page - the former Uptown Bar & Grill great, and now a great at the Stars Club for years.

9. Amber - Christie's Sports Bar very attentive and nice.

Recently left their jobs, but they are not forgotten! (If they were
still at their former bars, they would blow most of their fellow waitstaff
away!)

1. Gina - formerly worked at the Stars Club and the Four Seasons -
When she was here, she had the greatest personality of any waitress in town! I have
seen her "in the weeds" with people traffic engulfing her and she still retained her smile, got the order right, and on time. While many bartenders/waitstaff have good personalities, and a good work ethic, Gina had an aura of happiness about her that made entire crowds lighten up!
(Last year Gina obtained her college degree and she is now living in Waco.)

2. Candy - formerly worked at Christie's Sports Bar - She's always seemed to be at the Bar, when she was working there. She always gave extremely fast service in a very friendly and polite manner. In between taking orders
and delivering fare, she was always doing some sort of work (cleaning, etc.) yet was very attentive to the needs of her customers.

3. Mandy - formerly worked the outside bar at Jack's Pub, and is now solely working in Fort Worth - When the Mayor first knew Mandy, she was one of the moodiest and at time inattentive bartenders that I have ever known!
Later she became one of the friendliest and nicest bartenders, once I got to know her! If the Mayor was short on cash, she could always loan me a brew.

Fallen from the Rankings!

1. Peter and Feargal - the Dubliner and the Old Monk - They are still two of the Mayor's favorite people, and they have made the Dubliner and Old
Monk two of the greatest pubs in town! However, they don't work the bars in "prime time" as bartenders as much anymore. Thus, even though their contributions are significant, I can't honestly rank them.
